As website Thomistica.net informs, almost all issues of the journal most commonly known as „Divus Thomas” (Fribourg) are already available online. They have been digitalized by the platform E-periodica, run by the Library of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, which shares the journals issued in Switzerland or concerning this country.
The journal „Divus Thomas” established in 1887, originally under the title of „Jahrbuch für Philosophie und spekulative Theologie” (it was thus named until 1913). From the very beginning, it was noted for its strongly Thomistic approach and for decades was the periodical publishing the papers by leading Thomists. However, since the 1950s, together with the change of the title into „Freiburger Zeitschrift für Philosophie und Theologie” (what happened in 1954), this Thomistic profile has significantly weakened (a brief history of the journal may be found in the aforementioned article at Thomistica.net).
E-periodica has digitalized the journal under three separate titles:
- as „Jahrbuch für Philosophie und spekulative Theologie” (1887-1913);
- as „Divus Thomas” (1914-1953);
- as „Freiburger Zeitschrift für Philosophie und Theologie” (1954-2016; in open access until 2015).
