As website Thomistica.net noticed, a new scholarly journal devoted to the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas will be soon launched. It will be entitled the “European Journal for the Study of Thomas Aquinas” (the EJSTA), and will be available online in the open acess. It will be issued annually as a continuation of the “Jaarboek of the Thomas Instituut Utrecht” – a renown journal published since 1981 by the Tilburg University. The EJSTA is an initiative of three institutions: the Thomas Instituut te Utrecht at the Tilburg University (the Netherlands), the Theological Faculty of the Nicolai Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland) and Institut Saint Thomas d’Aquin pour la Théologie et la Culture at the Fribourg University (Switzerland). The journal will be published at Sciendo platform, belonging to De Gruyter.
The editor-in-chief is Henk Shoot (Tilburg University), the managing editor — Anton ten Klooster (Tilburg University), while the editorial advisory board consist of: Michael Sherwin, O.P. (Fribourg University), Benoît-Dominique de La Soujeole, O.P. (Fribourg University), fr. Piotr Roszak (Nicolai Copernicus University in Toruń) and fr. Mirosław Mróz (Nicolai Copernicus University in Toruń).
The journal will publish papers relevant to so-called Thomistic ressourcement, especially those on Aquinas’ theology, including his Biblical commentaries. The EJSTA will accept papers in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian, with the word count no longer than 9 000 (footnotes included). Until February 1st, 2019 papers to the first issue may be submitted. Precise guidelines for the authors may be found at EJSTA webpage and at Thomas Instituut te Utrecht.
